We’re an organisation for young people, by young people.
Dundee Youth Council is a project for young people aged 12 to 25. We aim to encourage young people to start thinking about the issues that affect them. We do this 3 ways:
Projects & Campaigns
We also get involved in different projects and campaigns. Earlier this year, we founded the Dundee Youth Fund; a project which puts £25,000 into the hands of Dundee’s young people. This project has went on to become its own separate project from DYC, an example of how small projects can become great things!
Many of our Youth Councillors are involved in projects outside of DYC. We have four members of the Scottish Youth Parliament which represent Dundee on a national level. Some Youth Councillors are part of UK Young Leaders, a network that connects Britain’s rising leaders with the United States, the American people and one another.
We have been involved in various projects with Young Scot, including Pick & Mix (an app called NaviGoGo which aims to revolutionise the way young people travel) and Save.Study.Spend. (a project looking at the financial services and assistance available to students in Scotland).
