Jack and Maryam give evidence at City Council meeting
Last month Jack Brady and Maryam Deeni gave evidence for the achievements of Dundee’s Community Learning and Development (CLD) work at a meeting of the City Council’s Neighbourhood Services committee.
The pair were invited to attend the meeting to take part in a deputation, which allows members of the public to present information to the committee members.

Highlights from the speeches:
“The transformation of an individual over time is an amazing thing. It is all down to the support, patience, and nurturing attitude of caring individuals. That is the work that we do and that is the power of CLD to an individual.”
“This allows me to work with other like-minded young people to collaborate ideas and to work locally and nationally to raise the awareness of issues important to young people.”
“James, since becoming chair two years ago, has taken every step throughout this time to ensure that young people are at the heart of everything we do, and that all decisions related to our work are made and led by the young people themselves.”
“I have had the opportunity to gain amazing life skills that I will carry with me throughout my life. The opportunities I am currently a part of would not have come my way if I was not involved in such a project.
@DundeeYC And they were both fantastic. An asset to the Youth Council and an asset to Dundee.
