The Scottish Youth Parliament (SYP) is the democratically elected voice of Scotland’s young people.  It is committed to ensuring young people are heard by the decision makers of Scotland.  Dundee has four young people, known as MSYPs, representing you and the city in the Scottish Youth Parliament.

How are they elected?

MSYPs are aged 14-25 and are elected every two years by the young people of Dundee.  This happens in an election under what is called the Single Transferable Vote System (STV), where you rank the candidates you want in order of who you would like to see win (1, 2, 3, etc).
